BURN MEMORY : It is important to let the candle burn for 2-4 hours on the first burn, ensuring the top layer of wax fully melts to the edges of the container. Otherwise tunneling can occur, where only a small portion of wax melts in future burns. This results in wasted wax and a shorter candle life.
TRIMMING CANDLE WICK : Trimming a candle wick to about 5 mm before each use is important for a cleaner, safer + more efficient burn. A wick that's too long can result in uneven burning or tunneling. Trimming the wick also prevents 'mushrooming', a carbon buildup at the tip, which can cause flickering and inefficient burning. Regularly trimming to 5 mm helps the candle burn evenly + last longer.
